21. Paradeplatz

The one in Paradeplatz, where expensive becomes really very expensive. The fountain is facing a major tram hub, the headquarters of a few banks, including a couple of Swiss ones, and Sprüngli, a well known confiseur and chocolate maker. Behind it, the new Hermès‘ flagship store (it used to be  giftware shop, specialized in silver pieces). To its left, the Zeughauskeller, a beer and sausage restaurant that no tourist or local should miss. Under it, a network of tunnels is used to store gold (allegedly). It could be an urban myth, but it seems that during the 2nd World War, an awkward combination of lack of space and security reasons forced the banks to dig and build their safe houses to store the gold reserves underground.
